Head & Neck CancerAlthough rare, head and neck tumors can have a devastating effect on normal appearance and function of speech, swallowing, and breathing.
The goal of treating patients with head and neck tumors is not only elimination of disease, but a strong plan for return of appearance, function and the emotional support to recover during the rehabilitation process.
Often the use of noninvasive surgical techniques combined with guidance of virtual real time computerized scan can allow tumor removal without deformity or debilitating open procedures.
Dr. Friedman has developed and published many techniques for reconstruction of the trachea and larynx that allow surgical removal of the tumor with reconstruction so that patients can lead relatively normal lives.
